Quick Stop Community Center Update

Since early November, 2024 - just six weeks after Helene - SCT has been operating continuously, 5 days a week, 9 to 10 hours a day, out of a 983 square foot former hair salon in Swannanoa.

Community members have created a cozy and welcoming place, but there is not enough space to accommodate the number of people we serve every week!

In early 2027, we'll be expanding into a vacant convenience store - formerly Tina's Quick Stop - adjacent to our current building.

Next year, SCT will operate community programs and services on three adjacent properties in Swannanoa - a garden and outdoor gathering area, our existing community care center, and a new community center. Here we will continue to provide essential services, community care and direct material support to people, disaster recovery and preparedness, and community connection.

Here’s a video update with some images of what we are planning.

We can't wait to welcome you to our new and improved community center next year!
